Welcome to Tim and Laura’s RV-10 website! We hope that you enjoy following our project and can pick up a few great ideas along the way while learning from our mistakes!  We will also document some of our flights using the plane, so take a look at the Adventures page.

We chose to build after researching aircraft ownership and partnership for several years. Having grown tired of renting aircraft and the associated limitations, we decided the experimental class would be the best route for us to reach our goal of ownership. We wanted to have an airplane that really fits our needs, expectations, and can fly our missions. We also needed ownership to be financially realistic both short and long term. Doing the build ourselves and having the ability to perform care, maintenance, and modifications to our own aircraft sealed the deal.

After doing a lot of research and advise-seeking, we decided the RV-10 fits the bill. We wanted a stable IFR platform that can comfortably seat four and has average speed and range for longer trips but is still economical to go putt-putt around the lakes and mountains near home. The great looks of the RV-10 and vast amount of information available is backed by world class design and support of the Van’s company, making this airplane a leader of its class.
